After spending most of my 20s working in far flung places around the world, I settled back in the UK and have worked in high pressure FTSE100 corporations for most of my career.  I reached senior management and have delivered high profile projects and programmes in the tech industry.

I have been coaching both within the business environment and in private practice since 2005, alongside my corporate career. I started The Balance House in 2006 as part of a life choice to work for myself.  I began my journey learning NLP (best described by Robert Dilts, here: NLP) in 2002 and have been practising yoga since 1998, both of which have had a huge influence on my philosophy and approach to life.  I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008, when I was 35 weeks pregnant!  My yoga and NLP definitely go together; I am only too aware of how the the body can teach us; both about what feels right and what feels wrong, while we ‘work in’ as well as working out, look in to look out, using tools of mindfulness to bring balance, letting the mind free reign to dream about what could be.

As well as a busy career, I am a working mum, so understand all too well the need to balance life between different roles and priorities. I love coaching and find it a real privilege to ‘hold the space’ for people to give them room and time so that they come up with solutions and allow them to be the best version of themselves.

I hired Kate to provide some professional career coaching for a member of my team recently promoted from project coordinator to project manager to assist in the staff’s transition of roles.

Kate provided an excellent service and has made a significant difference to the performance of the staff member. The staff member has increased in confidence and has told me she thoroughly enjoyed the coaching experience. I will definitely use Kate again.

I was coached by Kate over several months and found her to be a constant source of inspiration, motivation and support.

She helped me to identify opportunities to improve the way I worked and, equally importantly, helped me to recognise my existing strengths.

I always found Kate to be open, honest and knowledgeable, and felt I really benefited from her business experience and insight.

Kate has been my coach for a period of time now and has helped me grow and develop.

The sessions have exceeded my expectations and I would recommend what she has done with no reservations.
