About Kate

I have worked in high pressure FTSE100 corporations for most of my career, reaching senior management and delivering high profile projects and programmes. I have been coaching both within the business environment and in private practice since 2005 alongside my corporate career and motherhood. I started The Balance House in 2006 as part of a life choice to work for myself. As well as a busy career, I am a working mum, so understand all too well the need to balance life between different roles and priorities. I love coaching and find it a real privilege to ‘hold the space’ for people to give them room and time so that they come up with solutions and allow them to be the best version of themselves.

A coach approach is a culture which involves everyone in the business. We think that coaching is a wonderful approach to take in life and doesn't need to just be limited to the [...]

Can you self coach?

By |October 15th, 2015|

Ask even the most experienced coaches whether they coach themselves, and the answer is invariably that they find it very difficult.  They are fantastic at holding the space for their clients and to ask those powerful questions that shift the thinking in their client... but ask them to do it for themselves, and that's another [...]

A new role is a time of change... it can be exciting or uncertain, combining all sorts of emotions.  Whatever our feelings are, which we can explore, we will be applying past experience to dealing with the change and invariably we want a positive outcome.  We may have doubts, we may be like an over-excited [...]
